Naming Ceremonies
A naming ceremony is a special ceremony to welcome your new addition to the world. It is a time to mark that sense of awe and responsibility of having a child and a time to celebrate with family, friends and community.
There is no legal requirement behind the naming ceremony, however there is a process we follow to introduce your new family member to the people around you as well as recognise the key people in your child's life. This may include the appointment of "Godparents" or as they are sometimes called today "Guardians" or "Mentors". Your child's naming ceremony is a way to show how much the child will be supported throughout their life as well as committing to unconditional love for the rest of your lives.
